VR Learning Lab – Week 1

Aaaand we are back! After a lovely holiday, we came back strong with a team-day. Michelle and I got to present about our CoSpaces game and give tech-teachers tips and tricks we discovered while building our game. We also got to meet the new interns, and tell them more in-depth about our experiences and the work we have done so far.

The day after, I got to help clean the headsets used the previous day and I did some research about the presentation and the end-report for the internship. We came up with some more prototypes to build in AR for these last weeks, to keep me busy: we are going to build a few AR levels from our CoSpaces game in actual A! The smart-city level and possibly the biology-class level will be built in Unity, and hopefully help me better understand how Unity and Oculus works. I will build new 3d models and help Michelle with the programming of these projects.

I did go to Avans to try and lent a iPhone to make a 3D scan to experiment with the possibility of making a scan and building your prototype on top of this, but unfortunately Avans was still closed because of the Christmas holiday.

I started my smart-city project, which randomly spawns a building and the building gets deleted if it overlaps with another building. It’s not very efficient, but works for now. I tried to get a building to show with a coding question, but unfortunately this didn’t work as intended and the script simply didn’t load: I’ll need to look into this next week.
